Summer is officially here.  Memorial Day weekend is upon us and I'm breaking out my white pants.  As I've mentioned, we're in the process of selling our house and it's officially on the market now.  We had quite a list of things to do outside this weekend in preparation and I'm relieved that we manage to get most if not all of those things done.  My wife weeded and mulched the top of the driveway and managed to find time to paint the fence and mailbox up there as well.  Have I mentioned she kicks ass?

We started the day off at the gym where we had agreed the night before to throw down in an all out workout thunder dome.  We also each had about 4 glasses of wine which took a little of the spring out of our step but we pressed on anyway.  We were home by 10:15 AM and Liz took the kids up to help her paint as the hard work was done the day before.  About a 1/2 hour later she came back in the house and declared that she could not paint and watch the kids.  Wyatt followed behind her shortly thereafter covered from head to toe in white wood stain.  So the kids and I chilled why Mommy painted.  We played some baseball and I learned that Abby has a pretty good swing for a 4 year old and Wyatt may be a southpaw!

Once Mommy was done we all hit the pool which was all of 74 degrees.  Little chilly but the kids loved it and so did the parents.  After a swim I ran out to get some cheap fireworks because I had promised the kids and then we settled in for a good Memorial Day dinner.  The dinner consisted of corn on the cob, veggies and shrimp which were all grilled.  To top it off we added a couple pounds of fresh steamers.  Let me just say it was good...

The kids are asleep now and we're back to relaxing.  This is a holiday weekend where we give thanks for all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  I am more than thankful and forever in their debt.

As mentioned, the pro work Liz did at the top of the driveway

I think you kick some ass, as well, babe.
The grass and pool are all you - and they look awesome!
What a completely fab weekend. And we still have one more day. Tomorrow, I vote we do nothing. :)
