How 'Bout This Weather!? PDF Print E-mail

After biblical rain and wind this past weekend, mother nature has finally hooked us up with some pretty awesome weather.  Wearing shorts and a t-shirt over the past two days has really got me in the mood for spring.  I suspect we're in for at least one more good cold blast but I'm enjoying it while I can.  I'm even planning on going to hit a bucket of balls with Dub on Saturday before I try to fix his computer yet again.

March Madness kicked off today which is basically the gateway to a great time of year for sports.  It starts with the NCAA tournament, then you have opening day for baseball and soon after The Masters for the PGA.  Not a bad little run.  There were some great games today although I'm pretty disappointed with my bracket picks.  Like a rube, I went mostly with the chalk and have Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and Pitt in my final 4.  On a side note, I went 5 for 8 from 3-point range today at the gym in a game of 1 on 1.  The guy I played was actually jumping rope on the other side of the court and probably didn't realize I was playing against him but I pwned him regardless.

With the nice weather in town, I decided it was time to fire up the Charmglow and do some grilling.  Last night we had grilled cod fillets and tonight we had Wyatt's New England Shrimp & Scallop Ka-bobs.

I should have known better as this proved to be a little tricky with the timing.  As you might guess, shrimp cook much more quickly then scallops so they came out a little over done.  I also realized today that I'm done with sea scallops.  They're not bad by any means but they just lack the flavor of bay scallops, by a lot.  At any rate, the kids loved the ka-bobs and it was a pretty healthy dinner even with the white rice we added.  I also had a Guinness left over from our St. Patrick's Day celebration (oh the car bomb shots were flowing...) so that added a few calories.
